Jerad Birch

Children's Minister

Hi! I’m Jerad Birch and I’ve had the privilege of serving at South Spring since 2020.

My wife, Anna, and I met working at Pine Cove Christian Camps. We both lived here in Tyler for 5 years before getting married, then moved to Columbus, TX for three years to work with Pine Cove’s central Texas camps. In those three years we went from a family of two, to a family of five (if you include our dog)! We’ve also added one more into the mix since moving back to Tyler. Lucy is four years old, Jude is two, Katie is almost one, and Nike is our crazy Husky.

I’m originally from Colorado and love the mountains, snow, cold weather, and skiing! Clearly the Lord has a sense of humor by calling

me to Texas. While I’ll never call myself a Texan, moving back to Tyler has felt like moving back home and we couldn’t be happier to be serving at South Spring!

I look forward to seeing you at church and can’t wait to meet you! You can find me in the Children’s Ministry building most Sundays and there’s a good chance I’ll be dressed up as a skit character!

Fun facts about me:

-I love the Oregon Ducks.

-I grew up wrestling and coached a high school team through college.

-If I eat cooked carrots, I. Will. Vomit.

-I carry a “go bag” filled with equipment I might need for any kind of pick up sport—basketball, soccer, football, racquetball, etc. You name it, and I’m game.

-One set of my cousins were a Canadian chart-topping Christian boy band in the early 2000’s.

-I would much rather do something I hate with people, than something I love to do by myself. (Where my Enneagram 7’s and ENFP’s at??)
