Hi! My name is Karly Manuel. I joined staff at South Spring in September of 2018, and am so grateful to be here!
A little about me:
I am passionate about creating spaces where people can experience beauty and find rest. Some of my simple joys include: arranging flowers, making food for people I love, and painting outdoors.
I lived in Kentucky for a long time, but now my parents live in Chicago, Illinois – so me and my younger brother get to make fun trips to visit them and escape the Texas heat.(Yes, the man with the beard is my YOUNGER brother.)
The question I get the most is, “how did you end up in Tyler?”
I graduated with a BFA in Studio Art from Western Kentucky University in 2017. While I was in undergrad, Pine Cove Christian Camps recruited at my campus, and I was introduced to the ministry of Camp in the City.
Starting in 2015, I worked for Camp in the City for four summers. It was one of my greatest joys! Day camp with grade schoolers and a giant portable rock wall? Sign me up.
After graduating from college, I participated in Pine Cove’s leadership and discipleship program called the Forge. And thats how I found myself sticking around Tyler, Texas! This city has become one of my favorite places… thank goodness there are lots of trees here.

Now, by the graciousness of God, I get to do life with all of you! You can find me hanging out with the infants-gradeschoolers, probably chugging another cup of coffee, but loving every minute of it.
