Who can participate in DNOW?

Any student currently in 7th-12th grade! Students are welcome to invite guests and friends! We will do our best to put friends together, but we cannot guarantee they will be together.

Can students bring cell phones? How can I get into contact with my student while they’re at DNow?

Students will have limited access to their phones during DNow. Group Leaders will monitor cell phone usage and access during DNow at their discretion. The goal is to allow for an undistracted time for students. If you need regular communication with your student during DNow, please let John Sturrock or Mary Lee Knowles know.

What will students be eating, and what should I do if my student has food allergies?

Saturday breakfast and lunch are provided by the Host Homes, and Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast will be provided at South Spring! Students are welcome to bring snacks from home. Please do not bring any food with nuts.

On the registration form, there’s a place for you to let us know your students’ food allergies. We will coordinate with each host home to ensure allergy-friendly options.

Will there be a price adjustment if a student can only make it to part of the planned schedule of events for DNow?

We get requests for partial payment every year and our policy has always been to keep one “ticket price” and allow kids to come and go. With over 100 participants, it is extremely difficult to accommodate price adjustments for every unique scenario. Students who wish to participate in any part of DNow are required to register as if you were participating in the entire weekend. We understand there are unavoidable conflicts and students are allowed to come and go as long as they complete a Time Away Form.

What if my student has prescription medication?

All medications must be turned in at check in. Prescription medications will be administered by the host home. Students are not allowed to keep any form of medication (including over the counter medications) on them besides inhalers and/or epi pens. You will need to complete a medical form for your student that the host homes will reference any time care is provided while at DNow.
