Lance Sturrock – Lance comes alongside the thousands who visit our church – whether hosting groups with our facilities or those who come Sundays and decide they are ready to join us! Interesting in joining our church? Email him first.
Hi! I’m Lance Sturrock.
I began serving in this role in June of 2015.
Caroline and I have been married since March 1991 and we have three sons John, Ben, and Greg.
After completing seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, we were appointed and served with the International Mission Board, SBC from 1997-2002. As IMB missionaries we served as church planter strategists among the Waray-Waray people of the Philippines.
My role with South Spring Baptist Church is to help people discover their place of ministry service as illustrated in Ephesians 4:11-12. Additionally, one of my greatest joys is to helping people live out their strengths. Knowing this, my son Ben perfectly summarized how I feel about my role in the church. He simply said, “you win”, and I couldn’t agree more. This position of ministry is a natural fit… And it’s fun!
I am blessed to worship and serve the Lord alongside both friends and family. Our son John serves on staff as the Minister to Students while Caroline and Greg both serve in the Children’s Ministry.
I’d love for you to worship with us; but, more than anything, I hope you find a church that is right for you. It would be my pleasure to help you discover that church.
A Bible verse that I return to often is a prayer from Jesus, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3 ESV.
