Paul McKenzie – Paul’s responsibilities take most of the requirements of a typical executive pastor role and adds in the call to create a culture of discipleship here at South Spring.
Hello!
My name is Paul McKenzie. It is my privilege to serve as the Executive Teaching Pastor here at South Spring.
Of the things I am passionate about, I care deeply about others knowing their true identity, understanding how God has made us, and living out true character in response to God’s love. As a servant of God I seek to honor everyone, love the brotherhood, fear God and honor the king.
I have been in full time ministry since I graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a degree in Biblical Studies and I am currently attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Anytime I come home smelling like sawdust, two-stroke engine oil, sweat or mud, I count it as a good day. Of many hobbies, I enjoy slacklining, Ultimate Frisbee, woodworking, and most things involving two wheels. I am also a licensed falconer and have found a keen hunting partner in my Harris Hawk.
The only thing better is when I get to share those activities and adventures with the love of my life, my wife Jill. Since our marriage in 2006, it has truly been a blessing to be supported by and co-minister with my best friend. One of our biggest ministries is loving and raising our two daughters, who constantly bring smiles to our faces.
My dream vacation would be a motorcycle trip starting in the northern tip of Scotland and riding to the south of England on an old Norton Commando. The only reason I haven’t attempted the trek yet is because I can’t seem to find a nice set of goggles and the perfect scarf.
If you ever come by the church I’d love to meet you, I’m the redheaded one!
