We are serious about following the teaching of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians 4:11-15.
“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.”
The task of the church staff is to take the responsibility over certain areas of the ministry of SSBC, and to equip the saints to the maturity of the ministry of the gospel.

Areas of Responsibility: In coordination with Buildings & Grounds Administrator

  • Oversee building maintenance and janitorial needs
  • Coordinate contract work w/ Buildings & Grounds Administrator
  • Handle recurring contract relationships w/ Buildings & Grounds Administrator
  • Coordinate or Perform necessary equipment upkeep/maintenance
  • Maintain appropriate budget concerns related to department / expenses incurred
  • Facilitate storage and retrieval related to department
  • Create/Maintain systems of service
  • Oversee lay team of mowers
  • Oversee and implement key/fob assignments
  • Schedule and implement door locks and AC needs based on weekly groups
  • Approve and keep track of utility billing w/ Buildings & Grounds Administrator
  • Utilize and maintain system of job/task log
  • Execute Sunday morning tasks including:
    • Unlock/Lock all doors
    • Take trash as receptacles fill
    • Check/Restock main bathrooms as needed
    • Be available to respond to arising issues
  • Appropriately communicate with all departments as needed
  • Fulfill other responsibilities designated by the Buildings & Grounds Administrator and/or the Executive Teaching Pastor

Accountability:

This position will report directly to the Buildings & Grounds Administrator. The Associate Buildings & Grounds Administrator will be evaluated at least annually by the Buildings & Grounds Administrator based on this job description.

The Associate Buildings & Grounds Administrator will need to be disciplined to schedule personal, spiritual enrichment and self-development time into a varying work week. The Associate Buildings & Grounds Administrator will need to maintain the vision of facility care as a means to Live, Teach and Tell the gospel so that all may know the living God.
