Vision
South Spring is looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented, and proactive Communications Coordinator to help us communicate clearly and consistently across all of our platforms. This part-time role is perfect for someone who loves keeping people informed, enjoys using creative tools, and wants to contribute meaningfully to the life and mission of our church.
The central question driving this role:
“What do we need to do on each of our platforms to clearly communicate our message, updates, and events to as many people as possible?”
This role is fully in-person for the first 8 weeks in order to build relationships and better understand our church culture. After 8 weeks, hybrid work is an option, with in-person staff meetings or gatherings regularly required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Weekly Communications Planning & Execution:
- Plan and schedule clear, consistent messaging across all communication channels, aligning with the weekly and seasonal rhythms of church life.
- Digital Platform Management:
Maintain and update content on:- Church CRM – CCB (Church Community Builder)
- Email platforms (Mailchimp or similar)
- Church mobile app
- Social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram)
- Graphic Design & Content Creation:
- Use creative tools like Canva, Adobe CC, etc to create clean, engaging, and on-brand graphics for social media, app updates, emails, and occasional print materials.
- Collaborate with supervisor to create and distribute graphics templates for ministries to utilize
- Print & On-Site Promotion:
Support minimal print production (event posters, handouts, etc.) to increase visibility on campus. - Content Coordination:
- Collaborate with ministry leaders and staff to gather information about events, announcements, and other content that needs to be shared.
- Audience Awareness & Optimization:
- Evaluate engagement across platforms to determine what types of content are most effective, and adjust strategies accordingly.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Podcast Editing and Posting for Web Distribution
- Sermon Editing and Posting for Radio Broadcast
- Assist supervisor in communication strategy and vision development
- Brainstorming new and fresh ways to engage the growing congregation with valuable content
Ideal Candidate Traits:
- Clear communicator with strong attention to detail
- Proficient (or eager to learn) tools like Canva, Mailchimp, and church CRM systems
- Related skills acceptable
- Social media savvy (especially with Instagram & Facebook best practices)
- Creative mindset with an eye for design and messaging
- Proactive and organized; able to manage time well
- Collaborative spirit and alignment with the mission of South Spring Baptist Church
- Comfortable working both in-person and independently in a remote capacity after onboarding
Time Commitment:
- Approx. 10 hours/week
- Flexible schedule with availability for weekly planning and occasional in-person gatherings after the onboarding period
- Initial 6–8 weeks in-person for training, collaboration, and relational connection, followed by potential shift to remote with in-person touchpoints
