Coleson is a very valuable member of our team. He came on staff in the middle of the pandemic when communication (especially digital) was critical, and has made massive improvements to how we communicate as a congregation and with our community. In addition to being a media wizard, he is also a phenomenal worship leader. We are incredibly grateful to have him at South Spring.
Hi, I’m Coleson Lechner and I joined the South Spring team in July of 2020. As the Worship Pastor, I serve South Spring by using my gifts and talents in music and media to equip our congregation.
While I am a Texan at heart, I hail from the great continent of Africa, were I spent the majority of my upbringing as a missionary kid in Madagascar, South Africa and Mozambique. After graduating from high school in Mozambique, I moved back to the USA in 2011, and attended Ouachita Baptist University, where I graduated with a degree in Mass Communications.
My summers in college were spent on staff at Pine Cove Camps, where my faith was really challenged and developed, and where I met a beautiful, blue-eyed girl – the love of my life, Maggie. Maggie and I were married in 2015, and we have two kids, Claire and Ben, who add so much to our life – tons of joy and even a little grey hair.
I previously worked in full-time ministry at First Baptist Rogers, Arkansas, and on resident staff at Pine Cove camps. While we have been members here since 2016, I am excited to use my talents in a staff capacity to serve our church family.
Fun facts about me:

– I love cookies and cream milkshakes, donuts, and Olive Garden breadsticks [read: all bread]
– My favorite movie is That Thing You Do
– I can speak with a strong South African accent
– My hair is not red.
