Plow shares and plow points are two different things. Lack of farming experience, especially that of many, many years ago is probably the reason for the confusion. I view it like serial dilution of our knowledge base across generations. Still, it is interesting and amazing how our minds make connections with scripture so easily — easily that is if the scripture is in the mind so that the connection can be made. To carry the agricultural metaphor further, and perhaps too far, the seeds that were mentioned that need to be planted will never germinate unless they have good contact with the soil which I would take to be those with which we attempt to reach, influence, and minister to.
