Executive Team
What Does Chris Do?
Chris, as lead pastor, is responsible to captain the church to accomplish its mission to live, teach and tell the Gospel so that all may encounter the Living God. He is the overshepherd for staff and culture. Chris works to make sure that our teaching is Christ-centered and Biblically sound.
What Does Paul Do?
Paul oversees the business office and finances including serving as the Treasurer of the church, managing the finance committee and business staff/contracted relationships. He manages the building and facilities managing tasks, costs, and team members on both current infrastructure as well as staff lead on future construction projects/teams/contracted relationships. Paul serves the Leader Pastor as a the second member on the staff teaching team, and serves the staff as a general problem solver, question asker, and brainstorming resource.
What Does Blake Do?
Blake oversees all adult ministries of South Spring from 18 to eternity. He shepherds our life groups, adult leaders and teachers, as well as men’s ministry, women’s ministry, and Motherhood. Blake ensures the opportunities for teaching, leading and discipleship development among the membership.
What Does Wayne Do?
In addition to being a member of our Executive team, Wayne oversees the preschool, gradeschool, middle school and high school ministries, and shepherds Mary Lee, Daniel, Nicole, Kim, Rebekah, and Kasey.
South Spring Staff
What Does Allison Do?
Allison oversees our Hand-in-Hand Preschool program for ages 8 months – 5 years. She follows licensing standards, hires and trains teachers, works alongside families, and coordinates all the behind the scenes details to ensure a great preschool program. She is passionate about early childhood education and impacting families all across the community
What Does Coleson Do?
Coleson shepherds the worship ministry of South Spring, making sure the environment is inviting for people to worship the Lord together. His team handles Hospitality, Media and Communications, AV, IT, Campus Events and Church Management Software. He is the staff leader of the student band, training and discipling future worship leaders in South Spring’s student ministry.
What Does Daniel Do?
Daniel partners with Mary Lee to lead, teach and guide the students and their leaders in student Ministry. He will pay special attention to our student guys. Also, Daniel is going to be researching and designing a plan for SSBC to plant churches/ campuses in the near future.
What Does Dusti Do?
Dusti works alongside our Grade School and Preschool Ministers to make sure that Children’s programming runs effectively. She sets up classrooms, prepares curriculum supplies for all Children’s programming, and assists in coordinating events.
What Does Emily Do?
Emily oversees all accounting systems, records member contributions, receipting, accounts payable and expense reporting for South Spring staff. She coordinates all employee payroll, benefits and records.
What Does Jessica Do?
Jessica serves alongside the Executive Adult Ministry Pastor to support the administrative needs of South Spring’s Adult Ministries. She cares for the people of South Spring by facilitating clear communication, coordinating events, and managing resources for all Adult Ministry areas. Jessica plays a key role in ensuring our Life Group leaders and Adult Member/Ministers have what they need to lead and serve well as they help others grow in their walk with Jesus.
What Does Jessica Do?
Jessica serves the Children’s Ministry administratively, making sure all details are set up so programming flows smoothly for littles ones and teachers. She handles volunteer paperwork, Children’s ministry communication to parents, and interdepartmental details to make sure things get done in a timely fashion.
What Does John Do?
John leads our hospitality teams and keeps our technology working. He maintains our IT and AV systems, shepherds our greeters, golf carts drivers and kitchen team, and also handles the inner-workings of the community building software that we use as a church. If you want to serve with any of these teams or just nerd out over ohms or bytes, he’s your man.
What Does Kasey Do?
Kasey assists Executive NextGen Pastor in maintaining the administrative sides of the Preschool, Grade School, Middle School and High School ministries. She cares for the people of South Spring through effective communication, coordinating events, maintaining supplies, and partnering with all church departments. Kasey makes sure events are not just program driven, but discipleship driven, as we seek to live, teach, and tell the Gospel to all we encounter.
What Does Kendall Do?
Kendall helps facilitate Pastor Chris’ schedule as well as ensure that he has everything he needs to thrive in his various roles. Additionally, she cares for staff through coordination of retreats, luncheons, celebrations, etc. and assist in communication within and to church and staff.
What Does Kevin Do?
Kevin oversees all property maintenance needs. He builds relationships with vendors, companies and contracts. Kevin works in conjunction with the Associate Buildings & Grounds Administrator.
What Does Kimberly Do?
Kimberly runs program for all infants through kindergarteners. This includes everything from scheduling/communicating with teachers, communicating with parents, providing curriculum, setting teachers/hallway coordinators/parents up for success, planning events, etc.
What Does Lance Do?
Lance shepherds the membership process at South Spring, and is the primary caretaker of pastoral ministries.
What Does Lea Nell Do?
Lea Nell serves the women in our church in various ways – providing support wherever possible. She helps to organize events, Bible Studies and all ministries that focus on discipling women.
What Does Mary Lee Do?
Mary Lee helps to oversee the programming and discipleship of the 6th-12th grade students, student lay leaders, and parents. Her primary focus is coaching and supporting lay leaders and students. Mary Lee plans student events (DNow, Worldview Weekend, Student Camp, etc) and regularly teaches in large and small group settings.
What Does Nicole Do?
Nicole oversees our Grade Schoool Ministry which includes 1st through 6th grade kiddos! I work with our NextGen Ministry team to help come alongside parents to disciple their children in the elementary school years.
What Does Taylor Do?
Taylor carries out daily maintenance of our beautiful campus and building.
What Does Rebekah Do?
Rebekah, who served as an equipper for 14 years here, has now stepped into a part time role of ministry, still in our Next Gen department. In addition to serving in advisory and consulting roles, she will continue shepherd the Adoption and Thomas Ministries, Foster ministries, and the Missions partnerships and giving ministries.
